GENEVA — The World Economic Forum (WEF), in partnership with the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF), has named the 2026 cohort of the Young Global Leaders (YGL) Aliko Dangote Fellows, spotlighting eight African changemakers set to expand opportunity and strengthen institutions across the continent.
The Fellowship bridges Africa’s emerging leaders with the global Young Global Leaders network, enabling collaboration, knowledge exchange, and access to WEF platforms.
It funds full participation for high-impact African leaders under 40 in the YGL programme, including Davos meetings and executive education.

Fellows have participated in 400+ WEF engagements, including Annual Meetings, regional summits, and learning modules on finance, climate, health, technology, and governance.
Commenting on the new cohort, Fatima Aliko Dangote, Trustee of the Aliko Dangote Foundation and Group Executive Director, Oil & Gas, Dangote Industries Limited, said the 2026 Fellows embody leaders who will “expand opportunity and strengthen institutions, advancing Africa on its terms.”
“Africa’s future will be defined by the strength of its people. When the right leaders—especially women—are empowered and given a global voice, they do not just lead; they reshape what is possible.
“That is why we invest in people: because it is the surest path to lasting global prosperity, stability, and self-determination,” she said.
She added that the Fellowship exists to cultivate and support exceptional African leaders under 40, ensuring they have the resources to participate in the YGL community and accelerate impact on the continent and globally.
