Fresh hostilities between the United States and Iran are unfolding just days after Nigerian cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele released his annual prophecy compendium, Warnings To The Nations (2026/2027 Edition).
The latest edition was unveiled on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Within 48 hours, President Donald Trump announced that US-Iran peace talks had collapsed and warned of renewed military action against Tehran.
The breakdown comes weeks after both nations signed an interim agreement to de-escalate hostilities and guarantee free passage for vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
That calm was shattered this week as the US military launched strikes on Iranian targets for a second consecutive day, with Trump declaring the interim deal over.
Primate Ayodele had earlier cast doubt on the peace process during a live service at his Lagos church, stating he did not foresee the talks succeeding.
In Warnings To The Nations, he expanded on that position: “IRAN: I foresee the country will develop its nuclear weapons programme despite the United States of America's threats.
“I foresee the USA will hit them hard, even as more unexpected attacks will target the country, which they will resist. The spirit of God says Iran will carry out some major attacks against some neighbouring Arab nations. Iran will face severe problems.”
The cleric also prophesied attempts on Iranian leadership, technological shifts, and sustained military pressure on Tehran.
Late Wednesday, Iranian state media reported explosions in Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and Bushehr province, home to Iran’s nuclear-power-plant complex.
On Tuesday, three cargo ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz were attacked, triggering the most extensive exchange of fire since last month’s interim deal.
Iran has since targeted US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait on consecutive days. Sirens sounded twice on Thursday in Bahrain, where the US Navy’s 5th Fleet is headquartered.
