IGP Egbetokun Deploys More Officers to Rivers Amid State of Emergency


Following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has ordered the deployment of additional personnel and resources to the state.

In coordination with the Armed Forces and other security agencies, the police will enhance security, protect lives and property, and safeguard critical infrastructure.

IGP Egbetokun urged aggrieved individuals to seek legal redress through proper judicial channels. 

Meanwhile, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi warned against unlawful gatherings, protests, or activities that could disrupt public peace, emphasizing that law enforcement remains committed to maintaining order.
