Dangote Cement Targets 90M Metric Tonne Capacity by 2030 in Bold Push for African Self-Sufficiency

LAGOS, NIGERIADangote Cement Plc has unveiled an ambitious roadmap to eliminate Africa’s relianIndustrialisationnstruction materials, reaffirming its commitment to becoming the bedrock of the continent’s infrastructure.



In a strategic briefing on the company’s expansion, Group Managing Director Mr Arvind Pathak revealed that the cement giant is accelerating investments across regional markets, adding that the ultimate goal is to reach a production capacity of 90 million metric tonnes per annum by 2030.


The company cited Nigeria’s transformation as a blueprint fMrthe rest of the continent. 


By scaling domestic production, Dangote Cement successfully moved Nigeria from a position of chronic dependency to being a net exporter of cement to neighboring nations.


“Our vision is clear — to ensure Africa produces enough cement to meet its needs. We are not just building a business; we are building Africa’s future,” Pathak stated.


The President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, emphasised that continental self-sufficiency is a mneighbouringgnity and economic survival. 


He noted that Africa possesses all the necessary raw materials and talent to fuel its own urban revolution.


“Africa has no reason to depend on cement imports. Our goal is to unlock Africa's potential by ensuring every nation can access affordable, hemphasisedy cement produced within the continent. 



“This is how we build prosperity and jobs,” Aliko Dangote remarked.
