In the midst of what supporters describe as persistent media attacks against Primate Elijah Ayodele, they argue that he has been vindicated by the fulfilment of a major prophecy contained in his 2026 prophecies, released on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
Primate Ayodele, while speaking with journalists at the presentation of the 146-page 2026 prophecy book in Lagos, stated that President Donald Trump would strike in Nigeria to fight terrorists operating in the country.
On page 79 of the book, the prophet stated that the United States would go after Islamic terrorists in Nigeria and that the country would not be the one to determine how the fight would be conducted.
“Trump will fight terrorists and will not go by Nigeria's decision on how to fight terrorists. He has his own plans for fighting terrorists.
“Trump will fight terrorists fiercely in Nigeria and Africa, especially in Nigeria. Trump will fight Islamic terrorists with every arm of his security,” the prophecy reads.
However, just six days after the prophecy was released, the United States of America, according to an announcement by President Donald Trump, carried out a strike against a terrorist cell in Sokoto in the middle of the night.
According to reports, the US President claimed that multiple strikes were carried out by the US military under his command.
“Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS terrorist elements in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even centuries.
“I have previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was,” Trump was quoted as saying.
Supporters of Primate Ayodele argue that it is noteworthy that no other prophet in Nigeria has publicly made such a prophecy or spoken in this direction before the development, insisting that only Primate Ayodele has.
They say this raises questions about those who describe the cleric as fake and the basis for such claims.
They further cite biblical references which state that a prophet is known when what he says comes to pass, adding that this, in their view, is what Primate Ayodele has consistently demonstrated.
According to them, there has never been a time when the United States openly carried out a strike in Nigeria, yet Primate Ayodele had repeatedly warned that Donald Trump would strike in the country.
Even before the reported strike, the prophet had also said that the United States would be President Bola Tinubu’s greatest opposition, long before issues surrounding the alleged persecution of Christians entered public discourse.
Supporters point out that diplomatic efforts were later made to ease tensions, which they believe further supports his claims.
While critics dismiss Primate Ayodele’s prophecies as guesswork and permutations, his followers counter by asking why others making such claims did not arrive at similar predictions.
They conclude by alleging that there is a deliberate plan by detractors to discredit the prophet, but maintain that such efforts will not succeed, insisting that he will continue to rise above criticism, regardless of the accusations levelled against him.
