Senator Ewhrudjakpo highlighted the long-standing partnership between the Bayelsa State Government and the Dangote Group, especially in the agricultural sector, where the company serves as a key off-taker for rice produced in the state.

“The Bayelsa State government has a very viable relationship with the Dangote Group. We thank Alhaji Aliko Dangote for being an off-taker for our rice production.

“We are also looking forward to the possibility of building a mill near our farm clusters and settlements,” he said.

The Deputy Governor praised Dangote’s enduring legacy of giving, noting, “We must commend Dangote for conquering greed through his philanthropic virtues in the past 30 years. I urge all of us to emulate his spirit of generosity.”

“We are here to present 10,000 bags of 10kg rice to the people of Bayelsa. The Foundation, which has existed for over three decades, is committed to empowerment, nutrition, and education,” Ejiro stated.

He emphasised that the rice distribution is designed to support grassroots communities and complement state governments’ efforts in addressing food insecurity amid rising hardship in the country.

“Our target beneficiaries are market women, the physically challenged, widows, artisans, and other vulnerable individuals.

“We’ve reviewed the distribution template put forward by the Bayelsa government and are impressed with its transparency and focus. We believe the rice will reach the right people.”

The Chairman of the Bayelsa State chapter of the Joint National Association of People with Disabilities (JNAPWD), Ekpomokumor Mayor, expressed profound gratitude to the Foundation for recognising and supporting the disabled community during difficult economic times.

“We thank the Aliko Dangote Foundation for putting food on our tables. We also commend the Bayelsa State Government for including us among the beneficiaries,” he said.
