In a powerful show of corporate social responsibility, Prostar Sports International has partnered with the ‘Pad Me A Girl Initiative’ to promote menstrual health awareness and empower young girls across Nigeria.
The initiative, pioneered by Gatmash Media, received a significant boost as Prostar Sports, a leading sportswear brand, donated customised shirts to support its campaign.
These shirts, boldly emblazoned with the initiative’s logo, are designed to spark conversations, break the menstrual stigma, and show solidarity with the girls the project aims to uplift.
Convener of the Pad Me A Girl Initiative, Theresa Moses, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, stating, “We’re thrilled to have Prostar Sports International on board.
“Their customised shirts not only promote our cause but stand as a symbol of support for the girls we work with.”
Echoing her sentiments, Prostar’s CEO, Mr Paul Maduakor, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to social impact.
“At Prostar Sports International, we believe in empowering young girls and promoting menstrual health awareness.
“We’re proud to support the Pad Me A Girl Initiative and contribute to building a more inclusive and supportive society,” he said.
The shirts, made from high-quality, breathable fabric, are both functional and symbolic, aimed at fostering comfort and confidence among girls and encouraging open conversations around menstrual health.
Since its inception, the initiative has positively impacted over 2,000 young girls and women, particularly in Abuja and Benue IDP camps.
Beneficiaries have received reusable sanitary pads and vital menstrual health education, helping them manage their periods with dignity and knowledge.
Looking ahead, the initiative will launch a new phase in June/July 2025. Through the 'Access PAD, Me A Girl', PAD Bank plans to expand its reach and continue providing free sanitary pads monthly to underserved girls across more communities.
