Dangote Group Lauded for Driving Nigeria’s Industrial Growth at Enugu Trade Fair

The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ECCIMA) has heaped praise on Dangote Industries Limited for its transformative role in boosting Nigeria’s economy and advancing industrial development across Africa.

Speaking at the “Dangote Special Day” during the ongoing 2025 Enugu International Trade Fair, ECCIMA Deputy President, Mr Eric Chime, commended the conglomerate’s expansive investments across critical sectors of the economy, hailing its consistent partnership with the Chamber and its long-standing support for the annual fair.

“We are highly delighted to welcome Dangote Plc once again to their special day at the ongoing trade fair. Their continued presence and commitment have been instrumental to the success of this annual gathering,” Chime said.

Chime emphasised that Dangote Group’s impact spans a broad spectrum — from cement and food production to its recent and monumental foray into the oil and gas industry with the Dangote Refinery.

According to him, the refinery has already begun influencing fuel pricing and availability, which he described as a major contribution deserving national commendation.

“The impact of the refinery, especially in regulating petroleum product prices, deserves national recognition and support. We call on the Federal Government to continue to support Dangote Group in its efforts to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians,” Chime urged.

The ECCIMA official also took a moment to applaud Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries Ltd., for his visionary leadership and trailblasing spirit, describing him as a shining example of what dedication and innovation can achieve.

In response, Mr Ayirioritse Okerentie, Deputy Regional Director, Southeast, Dangote Cement Plc, thanked ECCIMA for providing a platform for the group to engage with stakeholders and showcase its contributions to national development. He lauded the theme of the 2025 trade fair — “Developing Nigeria’s Industrial Sector/SMEs for Economic Advancement & Global Recognition” — as being aligned with Dangote Group’s mission.

“As Africa’s largest indigenous manufacturing conglomerate, we are focused on Production, Prosperity, Power, and Pride. We believe the industrial sector, and by extension SMEs, can play a transformative role in job creation, import substitution, and overall economic advancement,” Okerentie stated.

He highlighted the immense job creation potential of the industrial sector, which, he said, could generate millions of both direct and indirect employment opportunities across various professions including engineering, administration, logistics, and marketing.

Okerentie also emphasized the importance of innovation, research, and global best practices in enhancing the competitiveness of Nigerian products on the international stage. “Developing Nigeria’s industrial sector requires massive investment in technology and the adoption of best-in-class global practices,” he said. “When your products are of global standards, global recognition becomes easy.”

He concluded by spotlighting the Dangote Petroleum Refinery as the group’s flagship project, which has begun exporting refined petroleum products such as aviation fuel, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), automotive gas oil, and naphtha to markets in Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia — all compliant with Euro V environmental specifications.

The 2025 Enugu International Trade Fair continues to serve as a platform for showcasing industrial excellence, with Dangote Industries Ltd. reaffirming its status as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic transformation.
