First Bank Deepens Commitment to Nigerian Arts with “A Heart on the Line” Sponsorship

First Bank’s Managing Director, Mr Olusegun Alebiosu

First Bank of Nigeria has once again demonstrated its unwavering support for the Nigerian arts and entertainment industry through its sponsorship of the YouTube series A Heart on the Line.

This partnership underscores the bank's commitment to promoting Nigerian culture and storytelling on a global stage.

The announcement was made during a press briefing, where Mr Idowu Thompson, Group Executive of Private Banking and Wealth Management, represented First Bank’s Managing Director, Mr Olusegun Alebiosu.

Thompson highlighted that the bank’s involvement in the project transcends financial sponsorship, reflecting its broader vision of preserving and showcasing Nigerian creativity.

“Our commitment goes beyond mere sponsorship. It is about ensuring that Nigerian arts, culture, and creativity are celebrated globally,” Thompson stated.

He also emphasized the bank’s intention to foster intergenerational connections by supporting projects that appeal to both younger and older audiences.

A Heart on the Line is a compelling film that delves into themes of love, family, and resilience.

Its exploration of sacrifice and human connections aligns with the bank's values of community and empathy.

Available on YouTube, the series may soon reach additional platforms, expanding its audience beyond Nigeria.

Speaking on the economic impact of the arts, Thompson noted the significant contribution of the entertainment industry to Nigeria's GDP, citing a $600 million boost from the film industry in 2021 alone.

He described First Bank’s support as a strategic investment in cultural promotion and job creation.

The film’s producer, Ms. Abimbola Craig, expressed her gratitude to First Bank for its belief in the project.

“Without their support, this story might have never been told. Their backing proves their dedication to Nigerian arts and culture,” Craig remarked.

Through collaborations like this, First Bank continues to position itself as a champion of Nigerian arts, driving cultural preservation and innovation while elevating local narratives to the global stage.
