Daniel Obi has emerged as the new Chairman of the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN), pledging to enhance the association's impact and uphold the highest standards of brand journalism.
In his acceptance speech, Obi expressed profound gratitude to the members of BJAN for entrusting him with the leadership role.
He emphasized the critical role of collective effort and visionary leadership in driving the association’s objectives.
“The strength of BJAN lies in our unity and dedication to amplifying stories that matter.
“Together, we will work to build a vibrant, ethical, and resilient association that reflects the highest ideals of our profession.”
He acknowledged the invaluable contributions of brand journalists across Nigeria, commending their commitment to storytelling, accountability, and amplifying marginalized voices.
Obi also paid tribute to his predecessors and their executive teams for establishing a solid foundation for BJAN.
Outlining his vision for the association, Obi highlighted key priorities such as promoting ethical journalism, investing in professional training, fostering collaboration among members, and maintaining public trust.
He urged members to adapt to the challenges of a rapidly evolving media landscape.
Obi also called on brands and stakeholders in the marketing communication ecosystem to continue their support for BJAN.
“We are partners in progress, and your support strengthens our ability to deliver impactful narratives,” he added.
The new executive team, elected alongside Obi, includes Lukman Ishau (Vice Chairman), Adedayo Odulaja (General Secretary), Amechi Obiakpu (Assistant General Secretary), Olufemi Adeyemi (Financial Secretary), Melvin Udosen (Treasurer), Adekanmi Fadare (Auditor), Stanley Ihedigbo (Chief Information Officer), and Rhoda Ogunseye (Welfare Officer).
Obi concluded his remarks by reaffirming his commitment to serving the members of BJAN.
“I will stand with you, work alongside you, and ensure our association thrives,” he pledged.
Under this new leadership, BJAN is poised to navigate the future with renewed energy and focus, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s media landscape.
