•As NIGCOMSAT MD Commends MOMAS-EPAIL Contributions To National Development
To boost effective communication infrastructure in Nigeria's Defence sector, the Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd., NIGCOMSAT, and MOMAS Equipment and Protective Applications International Limited, EPAIL, have announced a partnership on effective communication infrastructure in the Nigerian Defence sector, to boost national security.
Speaking at the event for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, the Managing Director, NIGCOMSAT, Mrs Nkechi Egerton-Idehen commended MOMAS-EPAIL's remarkable investment in Nigeria towards developing local content in power, defence and other sectors.
The event, which took place at the MOMAS-EPAIL factory in Mowe, Ogun State, witnessed personalities from both companies.
Egerton-Idehen applauded MOMAS-EPAIL for being at the forefront of innovation toward improving national security.
Urging other indigenous companies to partner with NIGCOMSAT to move the country forward through an effective server communication network, Egerton-Idehen said security remained paramount to the country at the moment.
Egerton-Idehen said: "Today is very historic because it's the signing of a partnership between NIGCOMSAT and MOMAS-EPAIL which is strategic.
“Most people do not know that MOMAS-EPAIL is involved in the manufacturing of defence materials for security, and NIGCOMSAT is the premier satellite communication company for Nigeria.
“So, there is value in collaborating in helping our Defence sector.”
The NIGCOMSAT boss said the company was poised towards serving Nigeria through Nigerians, adding that there was the need to protect, create values and embrace innovation in the defence sector.
She posited that NIGCOMSAT, a Nigeria server communication company and MOMAS-EPAIL a fully grown Nigerian company, would bring value to the nation.
Egerton-Idehen maintained that MOMAS-EPAIL had shown that partnering with local companies could be possible.
In his remarks, Mr Kola Balogun, the Chairman, MOMAS-EPAIL reiterated that the partnership with NIGCOMSAT would build an effective database and improve on data collection for national security.
Balogun who revealed that the firm had developed very strong knowledge-based information that would protect the security network, explained that the company had grown remarkably in providing Armoured vehicles and some classical operational materials.
Balogun confirmed that building synergy with NIGCOMSAT would enhance group communication infrastructure and also enhance front-line operations.
Balogun explained that the MoU would serve as a tool for exchanging information in security, intelligence, and communication with lots of classified information.
"All the vital information has to be embedded in the agreement such that information that is important to the security of Nigeria can be saved and domesticated.
“This will further enhance our services and effectiveness towards service delivery to the Defence sector,” he said.
