Tinubu clinches ECOWAS Chairmanship position



A new chairman for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has emerged.


He is Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


The Nigerian leader was elected chairman at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the ECOWAS that was held in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.


President Tinubu in his remarks, said, "We will take democracy seriously. Democracy is very tough, but it is the best form of government”.
