Panic, as cult members vow to kill security guard

Suspected members of a dreaded secret cult known as Eiye Confraternity are currently on the trail of a security guard called Azeez Ayodeji Aberejo.

Aberejo was one of the local security guards popularly known as (Oodua People Congress) ‘vigilante’ watching over a neighbourhood in Igando Area of Lagos State.

The vigilante group was said to have on Saturday, June 7, 2014, apprehended some members of the Secret cult at Igando and handed them over to the Police.

However, Aberejo being a member of the vigilante group is being trailed to be killed by members of the dangerous and dreaded cult group.

It was gathered that Aberejo’s problem started on Saturday, June 7, 2014, when he and other members of his vigilante group, while on patrol encountered a group of boys at about 2 am, and prevented them from breaking into and stealing from a commercial stall at night.

The cult gang was making attempt to steal from the stall when the vigilante guard stop them and arrested two of them while others took to their heels.

But the criminals fired some shots at the vigilante guards for preventing their criminal operations.

However, two weeks after the incident, a combine-team of two dangerous cult groups, Eiye Confraternity and the Black Axe Confraternity stormed the homes of two of the security guards, identified as Abiodun and James and shot them on the head. They were confirmed dead when taken to the hospital.

Our reporter gathered that when the cult members visited the home of Aberejo he was able to escape through the back door of his rented apartment.

According to a reliable source, who pleaded that his name should not be mentioned in this report, “It was a miracle that the Aberejo was able to escape from being killed by the cultists. The cultists, however, vowed that they will kill him anytime, and anywhere they find him.”

It was also learned that Aberejo has not returned home several days after the attempted attack on his life.

However, Aberejo’s neighbours are apprehensive and in great worry over his safety as nobody knows his whereabouts.

It was gathered that the matter has been reported to Igando Police station.

When contacted, the Divisional Police officer, DPO in charge of Igando Police Station declined to comment on the matter but directed our reporter to the Police Command at Ikeja.
