LAGOS – A high-stakes property dispute has erupted over a prime parcel of land in Lekki Peninsula Scheme II, as Lagos-based firm, Advance Lincon Limited formally accused Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, of alleged unlawful interference in its titled property.
In a petition dated February 16, 2026, submitted to the Lagos State Lands Bureau, the firm alleged that its ownership of Block 69H is being undermined by a rival claim linked to the Minister’s private business interests.
The petition, filed through ELISIO Law Office, called on state authorities to intervene and protect a title it claimed has been validly registered for over a decade.
At the heart of the petition is a discrepancy in corporate timelines. Advance Lincon Limited provided documentation asserting its ownership:
* Incorporation: April 8, 1999.
* Title Perfection: Registered in 2014 (No. 49, Page 49, Vol. 2014G).
* Documentation: Possession of a valid Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and Letter of Allocation.
The firm, directed by Omisesan Taofeeq and Babade Oluwole Adeniran, stated it sold the land last year to two investors, Alhaji Muniru Ogunleye and Mr Musiliu Ademola Lawal.
However, the new owners were reportedly blocked from taking possession.
The dispute took a sharp turn when the buyers reportedly received a call from an individual claiming the land belonged to a different entity: Lincoln Advanced Radiology Service Limited.
Investigations into corporate filings reveal a significant gap in seniority between the two companies:
* Lincoln Advanced Radiology Service Limited was incorporated on December 22, 2023.
* Directors: Corporate records list Olatunji Morufu Alausa (holding 75% shares) and Maryam Morenikeji Alausa.
Advance Lincon Limited argued that it is legally impossible for a company formed in 2023 to claim land that was allocated and registered to another firm in 2014.
“We are unable to understand how a company formed in 2023 could claim ownership of land documented years earlier,” the petition stated, noting that the rival entity has yet to produce a C of O or registered title of its own.
The legal battle has extended beyond the Lands Bureau. The solicitors disclosed that a counter-petition was filed with the Commissioner of Police, alleging that Advance Lincon Limited lacked the authority to sell the property.
The firm dismissed these claims as a “smokescreen,” insisting their directors acted fully within their corporate powers.
The dispute has left the two recent purchasers in financial limbo, with all development plans on the property stalled.
Advance Lincon Limited urged the Lagos State Government to uphold the integrity of its land registry and affirm the 2014 title.
As of press time, neither the Ministry of Education nor the Lagos State Lands Bureau has issued an official statement regarding the allegations.
