Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a uniform pump price of ₦739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations, marking a major intervention in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market.
The rollout, which covers over 2,000 MRS stations nationwide, is expected to ensure that the benefits of the reduced pump price reach consumers in urban and rural areas alike.
According to the refinery, the initiative aligns with its broader objective of delivering affordable fuel to Nigerians while promoting market stability.
In a statement, Dangote Petroleum Refinery commended MRS Oil Nigeria Plc and other marketers that have promptly adjusted their pump prices in line with the new regime.
The refinery described the move as an act of patriotism and urged other operators in the downstream sector to follow suit in support of Nigeria’s economic recovery.
“We commend MRS and other marketers who have demonstrated patriotism by reflecting the reduced price at the pump. We call on others to join this effort as a show of support for Nigeria’s economic recovery,” the statement read.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery also issued a stern warning against attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply in response to the price reduction.
It called on relevant government and regulatory agencies to remain vigilant, especially during the festive period.
“Any attempt to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply to frustrate recent price reductions is unpatriotic and unacceptable,” the refinery said, urging authorities to take firm action against such practices.
