Dangote Group Disavows Ownership of Truck in Enugu Accident

The Dangote Group has officially denied any ownership of the truck involved in a recent fatal accident in Enugu State.

The company's management released a statement clarifying that an internal investigation revealed the vehicle belongs to Visco Investment Global Limited, a third-party logistics provider.

The investigation was prompted by the widespread assumption that the truck was part of the Dangote fleet, a claim the company attributed to misinformation.

According to the statement, the Group is now working with law enforcement to understand how the vehicle came to be branded with the company's logo without authorisation.

In light of this incident, Dangote Group announced it will increase scrutiny on the unauthorised use of its brand identity and logo.

The company urged the public and media to verify information before sharing, stating that such incidents are often exploited for malicious or financial gain.

The statement concluded with reaffirming the company’s commitment to corporate responsibility and safety, urging the public and media to allow authorities to conduct their investigations without interference.

The clarification comes as the public seeks answers regarding the cause of the tragic accident.
