A Flight of Controversy: Pilot Alleges Assault by K1 De Ultimate, Sheds Light on Value Jet Incident

Captain Oluranti Ogunwale-Ogoyi, the Value Jet pilot recently suspended by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has broken her silence on the dramatic airport confrontation involving Fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate.

In a detailed account, Captain Ogunwale-Ogoyi alleged that the musician poured the contents of a flask on her and others after he refused a standard security check.

The incident, which took place at an Abuja airport, led to the suspension of Captain Ogunwale-Ogoyi and her co-pilot, Flight Officer Ivan Oloba, for allegedly violating safety protocols by moving the aircraft while K1 was still obstructing its path.

However, the pilot's narration paints a picture of a volatile situation spiralling out of control due to the musician's alleged actions.

According to Captain Ogunwale-Ogoyi, the confrontation began during the boarding process when K1 arrived carrying a gold flask.

Ground staff, the pilot said, following standard procedure, requested to inspect the flask's contents, but the musician "vehemently refused.”

She stated that K1 was seen drinking from the container, leading the ground crew to suspect it contained alcohol, a substance prohibited on Nigerian flights.

The Fuji star allegedly responded with defiance, questioning their authority: “Do you know who I am? You have no right to tell me to open my flask.”

As the situation escalated, Captain Ogunwale-Ogoyi left the cockpit to mediate.

Without warning, she claimed, “K1 opened the flask and poured its contents on me, the security personnel, and some nearby passengers.”

Following this alleged assault, airport security intervened, and the head of security advised that K1 should not be allowed to travel on the flight.

Captain Ogunwale-Ogoyi concurred, citing passenger and crew safety as her top priority.

Despite this, the drama was far from over. After the aircraft doors were shut, the pilot observed K1 was still “obstructing movement” near the plane.

She made a public announcement to inform passengers of the delay while security worked to remove the musician from the area.

The aircraft only taxied for takeoff once K1 was “moved out of sight,” a detail that has become central to the NCAA's investigation.

Captain Ogunwale-Ogoyi, who is the daughter of former Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale, asserted that the incident caused significant delay, disruption, and posed safety risks.
