Vice Admiral Ibas Arrives in Rivers State to Assume Duties


Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-ete Ibas (retd.), has officially arrived in the state to commence his duties.

Ibas touched down at Port Harcourt International Airport at approximately 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, where he was received by high-ranking government officials and security personnel.

Among those present to welcome him were Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, and the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 16. The administrator, alongside his security entourage, proceeded directly to Government House, Port Harcourt, signalling the start of his tenure.

The arrival of Vice Admiral Ibas marks a new phase in the administration of Rivers State following recent leadership changes. As a retired naval officer, he is expected to bring a disciplined and strategic approach to governance.
