Dangote Group Tops Nigeria’s Taxpayer List with N402 Billion Remittance in 2024

The Pan-African conglomerate, Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), has once again set a record as Nigeria’s highest taxpayer, having remitted over N402 billion in taxes for the 2024 fiscal year.

The company’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, made this disclosure while meeting with senior media executives at his Lagos office.

He highlighted that Dangote Group and its subsidiaries—Dangote Cement, NASCON, Dangote Packaging Limited, and others, fulfilled their tax obligations as responsible corporate entities.

Chiejina reaffirmed Dangote’s commitment to national development, stating that the company has never shied away from its financial responsibilities to the government at all levels or to its host communities through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

This impressive tax contribution follows the recognition of Dangote Industries Limited and its subsidiary, Bluestar Shipping, as the most tax-compliant organization in Nigeria.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) conferred the honour during its Special Day at the 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair, hosted by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

FIRS, the agency responsible for assessing, collecting, and accounting for tax revenues in Nigeria, acknowledged Dangote Group’s role in boosting government revenue.

The company has played a key part in driving Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in cement production and refined petroleum products, while also expanding its footprint across Africa.

Beyond taxation, Dangote Cement Plc, the country’s leading cement manufacturer, secured three prestigious awards at the FMDQ Gold Awards in Lagos.

These include: Most Active Business in the Foreign Exchange Market, Largest Commercial Paper Quotation on FMDQ, and Single Largest Corporate Debt Issue on FMDQ; the latest recognitions further cement Dangote’s status as a major player in Nigeria’s economic landscape, contributing to both fiscal revenues and industrial growth.

With continuous expansion across Africa, Dangote Group remains a powerhouse in corporate Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to economic sustainability and development.
