Two years ago, Nigerian Prophet Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Church, in his usual manner, spoke from his Lagos office about the political situation in far-away Somaliland.
Two years later, the few words Primate Ayodele spoke materialized into a shocking reality, with everything he predicted unfolding like a movie script.
Somaliland, since 2017, has been under the leadership of President Musa Bihi.
However, in a surprising turn of events, the just-concluded election saw opposition leader Abdirahman Cirro defeat the incumbent.
Cirro, leader of the opposition Waddani party, won 64% of the vote against Bihi's 35%, according to Musa Hassan, chairman of the Somaliland Electoral Commission.
“This election is not a win or loss for the candidates. It was an election of unity, fraternity, and pushing ahead the Somaliland nation,” Cirro said in a televised address on Tuesday.
In 2022, Primate Ayodele, in a prophetic revelation, had said that the incumbent president would not return for another term whenever an election is held because the people were already tired of his administration.
He noted that while the incumbent would make efforts to win, if he didn't strategize well, he would lose a lot of popularity before the election.
Primate Ayodele's call to the president was a warning about an impending loss, urging him to restrategize and be proactive.
Sadly for the incumbent, the prophecy of an impending loss has come true two years after he was warned.
These were the prophet's words:
“The president will make some moves to win the next election in Somaliland, and this election will come up as a result of… people don't want the president again, and if he doesn't manage his political crisis, it might put him in a very big problem.
“He needs to be very careful, watchful, and proactive in making political decisions. He will do things to make sure he wins, but if he doesn't strategize, he might lose a lot of popularity.”

It is worth recalling that Primate Ayodele was recently celebrated for foretelling the exit of the ruling party in Botswana.
The party had ruled for 58 years and sought an extension but was stopped by the opposition party.
Primate Ayodele had, on several occasions long before this election, stated that the incumbent president would be disappointed at the election polls.
He made it clear that the outcome of the election would be shocking and disappointing to the ruling party.
These were his words:
“In Botswana, the president will make every effort, and the country will want to move on to a new stage, but the president must be careful, so he won’t be disappointed. In the coming election, the president will be disappointed; people will not want to vote for him.”
