Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price to ₦970 per Litre, Thanks Nigerians, Government

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from ₦990 to ₦970 per litre.

The move, effective immediately, was confirmed on Sunday by the company's Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, in a public statement.

Describing the reduction as a gesture of appreciation, Chiejina highlighted the support of Nigerians and the government in making the refinery a reality.

“This is our way of thanking Nigerians for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true,” he stated.

The refinery, located in Lekki, Lagos, is Africa's largest petrochemical complex.

The price slash allows oil marketers to save ₦20 per litre, a development expected to ease supply chain costs and enhance profitability for distributors.

“This reduction also serves as a token of gratitude to the government for its support.

“It complements measures aimed at encouraging domestic enterprise for our collective well-being," the statement read.

The company emphasized its commitment to maintaining high-quality, environmentally friendly, and sustainable petroleum products.

It assured stakeholders that production would be scaled up to meet domestic fuel demands, ensuring a steady supply and mitigating any concerns of shortages.
