For the first time since Globacom began operations in 2003, its founder, Mike Adenuga, is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer, passing the leadership to a new appointee.
Confirmed reports reveal that the Indigenous telecom giant has appointed Ahmad Farroukh, a former CEO of MTN Nigeria, as its new CEO.
This shift aligns with the Nigerian Communications Commission's (NCC) drive to enhance corporate governance across the telecom sector.
Sources close to the matter have noted a significant shift in Globacom's relationship with the NCC as it strengthens its internal processes and regulatory compliance.
An official announcement is expected soon, but the company has already informed the NCC.
According to TechCabal, Farroukh will soon take the helm, marking an unprecedented leadership change for Globacom.
Notably, this development is a fulfilment of a prophecy by Nigerian prophet Primate Ayodele, who in September foretold a leadership shift for both Globacom and Airtel.
While Airtel has previously changed CEOs, Ayodele's prophecy about Globacom is remarkable, as it has never before replaced its CEO.
In the same video, Primate Ayodele predicted that the NCC would introduce policies affecting the industry, leading telecoms to make substantial adjustments—fulfilled here with Globacom's CEO transition.
In his words:
“Two of these telecommunication CEOs will be changed: Airtel and Globacom.”

Primate Ayodele has made numerous prophecies related to the telecommunications sector, particularly regarding Globacom.
This recent shift in leadership is only one of several predictions, with more expected to unfold.
