‘Akeredolu Would Be Given A State Burial’ — Ondo Governor

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has revealed that the late former Governor of the state, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, would be given a state burial.

Aiyedatiwa stated this while announcing the burial arrangement of the late former Governor.

According to the Ondo Governor, rather than a celebration of a remarkable life, there will not be a sombre event for the late Governor, who died on December 27 after a protracted illness.

Speaking on Saturday while receiving the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Elizade University, Prof. Kayode Ijadunola, in Akure, Aiyedatiwa stated that Akeredolu, whose contributions spanned various aspects of human endeavour, would be accorded a state burial.

The Governor, said, “The burial of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredelu will not be a gloomy affair but a celebration of the life of a patriot who was true to life and mankind.”
