Abuja, Nigeria – The Pad Me A Girl Empowerment Foundation today marked its first anniversary, reflecting on a year of dedicated service that has significantly impacted the lives of over 10,000 vulnerable girls and women across Nigeria.
The milestone was observed with a poignant humanitarian outreach at the Area 1 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Durumi, Abuja.
Led by Abuja Coordinator, Mrs Blessing Amos and Benue State Coordinator, Mrs Salome Alamoh, along with a passionate team of volunteers and partners, the anniversary outreach reinforced the foundation's core mission, to restore dignity and provide essential resources.
Since its inception on April 3, 2025, Pad Me A Girl has expanded its reach across Abuja, Ogun, Benue, and Nasarawa States.
The organisation has been instrumental in distributing sanitary pads, exercise books, writing materials, and food items.
Crucially, they have also conducted vital menstrual hygiene education and hosted interactive sessions designed to dismantle the stigma surrounding menstruation.
These initiatives equip beneficiaries with critical knowledge and confidence, enabling them to manage their health with dignity.
Mrs Blessing Amos emphasised the necessity of these grassroots interventions, particularly within vulnerable communities like IDP camps.
“Access to menstrual hygiene products is a critical need. Initiatives like Pad Me A Girl bridge that gap while empowering young girls to thrive and embrace their potential,” she stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Mrs Salome Alamoh highlighted the expanding influence of the foundation.
"Menstrual health is not just a personal issue; it is a public health and social development priority.
“We must ensure that every girl and woman, regardless of her background, can access necessary resources and education,” she affirmed.
The Convener, Theresa Moses, emotionally reflected on the foundation’s remarkable journey. “Today, we celebrate one year of purpose, passion, and impact.
“In just one year, we have reached over 10,000 girls and women, breaking barriers, restoring dignity, and promoting menstrual health awareness across multiple states,” she shared.
Moses extended profound gratitude to the volunteers whose passion fuels the movement, the sponsors, and partners whose generosity makes the impact possible, and the media for amplifying their mission.
“We are not just celebrating a milestone, we are building a movement. One mission. One movement.
“Endless impact. And yes, we are just getting started,” she concluded, inviting prospective supporters to join their transformative journey.
