The Associate Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Toluwani Odukoya, has shared the intimate details of her separation journey, an experience she describes as significantly shaping her life and likened to a “death.”
In a revealing interview with Truthtable, the 40-year-old pastor explained that the separation was a result of “circumstances beyond my control,” stressing that such an event does not necessarily equate to failure or fault on either side.
"I’ll say I’m separated. Most of you don’t know I’m separated and that’s actually defined or has shaped my life,” she stated.
Despite the split, Toluwani had high praise for her ex-husband, calling him a “great man.”
She, however, believes the marriage struggled because it lacked divine orchestration.
“If God doesn’t ordain you guys to be together and you force-fit yourselves, the likelihood of staying together is very low,” she explained.
Toluwani’s challenging personal life has also coincided with a period of intense familial loss, including the passing of her stepmother, her father’s twin sister, and eventually, her father, Senior Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, who died on August 7, 2023.
Through these multiple struggles, the pastor shared that her faith became her anchor.
“I just decided to keep my eyes on Jesus,” she recounted, revealing a moment of surrender when facing her call to serve amid her personal baggage.
Crucially, she credited her family, particularly her late father and siblings, for their unwavering support.
“My dad fought for me. My family encouraged me. That embrace added to my self-esteem and self-worth,” she said, highlighting the pivotal role their encouragement played in keeping her grounded.
The Odukoya family continues its long-standing legacy at The Fountain of Life Church.
Toluwani now serves in the church's leadership alongside her brother, Jimmy Odukoya, who succeeded their father as the Senior Pastor following his passing.
