On several occasions, whenever he speaks about the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Primate Elijah Ayodele has consistently declared that the party is already in the mortuary and will soon be buried.
To many, this statement may sound humorous, but according to the prophet, he means it literally, anything in the mortuary is only awaiting burial. Only a miracle, he insists, can bring such a subject back from the dead.
He reiterated this claim recently during the presentation of his annual prophecy book, ‘Warnings to the Nations’, on Saturday, July 5, 2025. He maintained that the party is already dead and nearing its final burial.
These were his words:
“PDP will soon lose a governor because the party is currently in a mortuary state. With Damagum as the party chairman, the party cannot succeed.
“Let them choose between Gabriel Suswam and David Mark, either of them can withstand the pressure from other political parties and go to any length to restore the PDP.
“With the support of party members, any of them can rescue the party from its current moribund state.”
While many did not initially grasp the prophet’s message, the current state of the PDP seems to be confirming Primate Ayodele’s long-standing prophecy.
Just yesterday, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, officially resigned from the PDP, a move he described as heartbreaking.
Atiku, who had been a longstanding member of the party and was widely expected to contest again in 2027, has now walked away, signalling deep trouble within the opposition ranks.
Following his resignation was that of Dele Momodu, a fellow presidential aspirant, who remarked that the party is already a "carcass."
It is worth recalling that earlier this year, Primate Ayodele warned that the PDP might not even produce a presidential candidate in 2027, citing a "satanic spell" on the party.
“If care isn’t taken, PDP will lose 2027 unless it retraces its steps and undergoes total cleansing.
“PDP won’t even come second, let alone third, in the election. There are satanic forces determined to destroy the party unless it wakes up.
“They need to run to God, or the party won’t survive 2027. PDP is dying at a fast pace, and those who can save it won’t listen.
“In some states like Lagos, the party’s candidates won’t even be viable. Important personalities will continue to decamp.”

With these recent defections and internal crises, is Primate Ayodele’s prophecy of the PDP’s death before 2027 coming to pass? Only time will tell. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
