Oba Olufemi Abiodun Martins has been officially installed as the Olu of Paata Abiodun Kingdom in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, in a ceremony filled with tradition, culture, and royal elegance.
The installation was carried out on behalf of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, by the Alake of Egbaland and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III.
The Alake crowned the new monarch and offered prayers for a reign marked by peace, growth, and stability.
In his address, the Alake urged Oba Martins to serve as a selfless and law-abiding leader who prioritises the welfare of his subjects and remains loyal to the state government.
He also conveyed Governor Abiodun’s message of support, assuring the monarch of the government’s readiness to assist him in fulfilling his royal duties.
Oba Martins, who had earlier received his staff of office, expressed deep appreciation to the governor, the Alake, and his community.
He commended the preservation of tradition in Ogun State and prayed for the Alake’s continued good health and leadership.
He also pledged to work for peace, unity, and the development of his kingdom.
The coronation ceremony was graced by dignitaries including the Olunla of Otta, Otunba Lanre Martins; Olori Remilekun Martins; Olori Adenike Martins; Olori Aderoju Martins; Oluwo Hammad; Chief Akeem Famuyiwa; Chief Mrs Sarah Famuyiwa; Chief Wale Okunade; Princess Blessing Martins; Princess Abimbola Martins; Mrs Funmilayo Martins; Chief Ishmael Dawodu; Chief Mrs Folake Olukuawu (Otun Iyalode of Pataa Abiodun); Chief Mrs Amoke Kushimo (Iyalode of Pataa Abiodun); and Mr Ranti Thomas, Publisher of Royal Times.
Speaking on behalf of the royal household, Olori Remilekun Martins thanked all well-wishers and promised to support the king in promoting peace and harmony.
Mr Thomas hailed Oba Martins as a humble and God-fearing monarch fit to lead the kingdom into a prosperous future.
