Dangote Refinery to Begin Nationwide Fuel Distribution August 15

•Deploys 4,000 CNG Tankers to Revolutionise Sector

•Targets Petrol Dealers, Manufacturers, Aviation, Telecoms, SMEs with Free Logistics, Credit Facility

In a major move to reshape Nigeria’s fuel supply and distribution landscape, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the commencement of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel distribution across the country starting August 15, 2025.

The company disclosed that this strategic rollout will target key sectors including petroleum marketers, filling station owners, manufacturers, telecom firms, the aviation industry, and other high-volume fuel consumers.

As part of the initiative, the refinery will provide free logistics support, aimed at easing fuel transportation challenges and enhancing accessibility.

To drive the initiative, Dangote Refinery has invested heavily in a fleet of 4,000 brand-new, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers, forming a crucial pillar of its logistics expansion.

The company also revealed that it is developing an extensive network of CNG stations, commonly referred to as daughter booster stations, across the nation, supported by an additional 100 CNG tankers to facilitate efficient product distribution even to remote and underserved areas.

"This national programme is a game-changer in the midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors.

“It demonstrates our commitment to eliminating distribution bottlenecks, promoting sustainability, enhancing energy security, and supporting Nigeria’s overall economic growth,” the company said.

One of the most impactful elements of the scheme is the free logistics support, which removes transportation expenses for customers sourcing fuel directly from the Dangote Refinery.

This will benefit a broad range of stakeholders, from small fuel station operators to large-scale manufacturers.

In addition, the refinery will extend a credit facility to eligible bulk buyers.

Customers who purchase a minimum of 500,000 litres of fuel will qualify for an additional 500,000 litres on a two-week credit basis, backed by a valid bank guarantee.

This incentive is aimed at boosting liquidity, increasing stock availability, and ensuring consistent fuel access nationwide.

“The initiative will not only enhance access to affordable fuel but also revive dormant petrol stations, create employment opportunities, lower operating expenses for businesses, reduce inflation, and stimulate economic activities across critical sectors,” the statement noted.

According to Dangote Petroleum Refinery, the project is aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, supporting his administration’s vision of economic inclusion, energy security, and sustainable growth.

The company also acknowledged the Federal Government’s support through the Naira-for-Crude scheme, which it said has helped ensure stable fuel availability despite international market fluctuations.

“This partnership underscores the importance of public-private collaboration in transforming the energy landscape of Nigeria,” it added.

Dangote’s latest initiative also complements government reforms in the petroleum sector, creating a conducive environment for private sector-led growth.

By leveraging a local supply chain and clean fuel technology, the refinery is positioning itself as a key player in Nigeria’s transition to more efficient and sustainable fuel distribution systems.

The company urged interested parties, including petrol dealers, manufacturing and telecom firms, and aviation operators, to take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity by registering for direct fuel purchase.

The registration and Know Your Customer (KYC) process commenced on June 16 and will run through August 15, 2025, a period of 60 days.

For registration and enquiries, stakeholders can reach the refinery via the following contact numbers: +234 707 470 2099, +234 707 470 2100, +234 816 961 8390, +234 703 796 8308, +234 812 362 2893 or email: sales.enquiry@dangote.com.

By deploying CNG-powered tankers, Dangote Petroleum Refinery is not only expanding fuel access but also promoting environmental sustainability.

The move marks a clear shift away from traditional diesel-powered logistics and signals a national drive toward cleaner, greener alternatives.

The company emphasised that this initiative is designed to leave no region behind, including rural and underserved communities, thereby reinforcing its mission to deliver equitable access to energy.

“We are a Nigerian company with global standards, committed to the prosperity and well-being of all Nigerians.

“This is more than just fuel distribution, it’s a transformation of our national fuel ecosystem,” the company concluded.
