Dangote, Vinmar Ink Global Deal to Distribute Made-in-Nigeria Polypropylene

Targets $1.2 Billion Annual Revenue from Petrochemicals

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has signed an exclusive global distribution agreement with Premier Product Marketing LLC, a subsidiary of the Vinmar Group, to export its newly launched polypropylene products beyond Nigeria and Africa.

The landmark deal was announced on the heels of Dangote Group’s commencement of polypropylene production at its $2 billion world-class refinery and petrochemical complex in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.

The partnership is poised to position Dangote Polypropylene as a competitive global brand, leveraging Vinmar’s vast distribution network across more than 110 countries.

The facility, which incorporates INEOS’s advanced INNOVENE technology, is designed to produce 77 grades of high-quality polypropylene used in a wide array of industries including packaging, automotive, textiles, and construction.

Hajiya Fatima Aliko Dangote, Group Executive Director (Commercial), Dangote Group, described the partnership as a strategic leap for Nigerian industrialisation.

“We're pleased to partner Vinmar to introduce Dangote Polypropylene to the global markets.

“The product will follow other Dangote brands to become synonymous with quality and reliability globally,” she said.

Vinmar Group CEO, Vishal Goradia, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting Vinmar’s longstanding relationship with Dangote in the Nigerian market.

“Vinmar has been honoured to count Dangote as a valued customer in Nigeria for decades.

“We are thrilled to now support the global launch of Dangote Polypropylene,” he stated.

The petrochemical facility boasts an annual production capacity of 900,000 metric tonnes and is projected to generate a turnover of $1.2 billion yearly, making it one of Africa’s most ambitious industrial undertakings to date.

Founded in 1978, Vinmar is a global leader in petrochemical marketing and distribution, employing over 1,500 professionals across 58 offices worldwide.

The company’s vast footprint and logistical capabilities are expected to drive the global adoption of Dangote’s polypropylene products.

The move aligns with Dangote Industries’ broader vision of reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imports, while promoting high-value exports and positioning the country as a hub for petrochemical manufacturing in the global market.
