The Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) has announced that renowned sustainability expert, Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 World Consumer Rights Day celebration in Nigeria.
Globally observed on March 15, World Consumer Rights Day raises awareness about consumer protection and advocacy.
In Nigeria, BJAN organizes the annual event to highlight pressing consumer issues, with a special focus on the challenges faced by Nigerian consumers.
This year’s event, themed “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles,” will take place on March 14, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, starting at 10 AM.
The theme underscores the urgent need for sustainable consumer habits while promoting eco-friendly practices in everyday living.
As the CEO of Kratos Sustainability Consults, Victor-Laniyan is widely recognized for her expertise in sustainability and corporate responsibility.
Her keynote address is expected to provide strategic insights into achieving a just and sustainable transition for consumers.
Joining her in discussions are esteemed industry leaders, including Victoria Uwadoka, Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability Lead, Nestlé Nigeria; Bankole Oloruntoba, CEO, Climate Change Nigeria (CIC).
These experts, alongside other sustainability professionals, will dissect key aspects of sustainable consumption, corporate responsibility, and policies that promote consumer rights in Nigeria.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Daniel Obi, Chairman of BJAN, expressed enthusiasm about the lineup of speakers and the expected impact of the discussions.
“We are excited to have these industry leaders share their expertise with us. Their insights will be invaluable in promoting sustainable lifestyles and protecting consumer rights,” he stated.
