Dangote Peugeot Expands Production, Assembles 3008 GT in Kaduna

Unveils Landtrek Pickup

Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited (DPAN) has taken a significant step toward reclaiming its leadership in Nigeria’s auto market with the local assembly of the Peugeot 3008 GT model at its modern Kaduna plant.

The 3008 GT, a premium trim of the award-winning Peugeot 3008 SUV, features a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, automatic transmission, and advanced safety features.

Joining DPAN’s existing lineup, including the popular 301 sedan and the spacious 5008, the 3008 GT offers a refined driving experience with luxury touches such as a massage seat, sunroof, Bluetooth telephony, and a high-tech I-Cockpit interface with a 12.3-inch head-up display.

Safety remains a priority, with at least eight airbags, lane departure warning, electronic stability control, and anti-lock braking systems. Additionally, the cruise control system ensures a comfortable long-distance driving experience.

Beyond passenger vehicles, DPAN is expanding into the light commercial segment with the introduction of the Peugeot Landtrek 4x2 pickup truck.

Equipped with a robust 2.4-litre engine and rear-wheel drive, the Landtrek is designed for rugged performance, with a 4x4 variant potentially in the pipeline.

DPAN Chief Commercial Officer Umar Isa-Kaita confirmed that discussions are ongoing with potential dealerships to enhance Peugeot’s sales and after-sales network across Nigeria.

This expansion aims to improve service accessibility and increase the brand’s presence nationwide.

DPAN is jointly owned by Aliko Dangote’s Dangote Industries Limited, the Kaduna, Plateau, and Kebbi State Governments, and Stellantis Group, Peugeot’s parent company.

The addition of the 3008 GT and Landtrek fulfils a promise made in 2022 when the company rolled out the locally assembled Peugeot 301.

With an assembly capacity of 120 vehicles per day across two shifts, Managing Director Ibrahim Isa Gachi remains confident that DPAN will restore Peugeot’s dominance in Nigeria’s auto market, reviving the brand’s legacy from the 1980s and 90s.
