Dangote Group Champions Digital Transformation to Boost Efficiency

In a bold move to maintain its status as Africa’s leading conglomerate, Dangote Industries Limited has embraced cutting-edge technology across its subsidiaries, enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience.

Speaking at the recently concluded 46th Kaduna International Trade Fair, Senior Advisor to the President of the Dangote Group, Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, reiterated the company's commitment to digitization, stating that advanced automation and smart systems have streamlined manufacturing and sales processes.

“As some of you may be aware, we have since digitized our manufacturing and sales processes through the deployment of automated and smart systems, particularly in our cement plants,” she said.

She noted that tasks that previously took days to complete are now accomplished in mere minutes, thanks to the company’s investment in digital transformation.

The Dangote Group was a major sponsor of this year’s trade fair, themed Promoting Efficiency in Manufacturing, Trade, and Agriculture through Digital Transformation.

At the event’s Dangote Special Day, Wali Abdurrahman emphasized how integrated advanced technology has propelled the company to a leadership position across its sectors, including cement, sugar, salt, fertilizers, petrochemicals, and agriculture.

In her remarks, Wali Abdurrahman highlighted the company’s commitment to improving customer experiences through the introduction of a digital ordering system.

“Our customers have expressed immense satisfaction with this innovative ordering channel, reinforcing our dedication to enhancing their experience and driving future growth,” she stated.

She pointed out that the company’s Distributor Management System (DMS) application, available on both Android and iOS platforms, enables registered customers in the cement, sugar, and salt sectors to seamlessly access Dangote’s products anytime, anywhere.

Expanding on the role of digital transformation in the automotive sector, Wali Abdurrahman detailed how Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (DPAN) has leveraged advanced technology to boost production capacity.

The DPAN plant currently produces 120 vehicles daily, with an annual capacity of 44,000 units.

“By assembling globally renowned Peugeot models—such as the Landtrek pickup, 3008, 5008, and 508 GT—DPAN fosters trade by reducing import dependency and providing locally assembled vehicles at competitive prices,” she explained.

The efforts of the Dangote Group did not go unnoticed, as the President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), Rsv Ishaya Idi, praised the company’s impact on job creation and economic growth in Nigeria.

He reaffirmed the Chamber’s partnership with Dangote, urging Nigerians to support the conglomerate.

“The 46th Kaduna Trade Fair has provided a platform for meaningful interactions between the Chamber and the Dangote Group, reinforcing our shared goals for industrial and economic growth,” Idi said.

Dangote Industries remains the largest private-sector employer in Nigeria, a fact acknowledged by the Federal Government during the fair.

Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Acting Permanent Secretary, Dr Dafang Sale commended the conglomerate for its unwavering contributions to Nigeria’s industrialization efforts.

Speaking to journalists, the Director-General of KADCCIMA, Alhaji Usman Saulawa, lauded the Dangote Group for its significant influence on Kaduna’s business ecosystem and its broader impact on both the national and global economy.

“Our unique selling point is the joint collaboration between the Kaduna State Government, Dangote Group, and other corporate stakeholders,” Saulawa noted, emphasizing the strategic partnerships that made this year’s trade fair a success.

With its continued investment in cutting-edge technology and strategic collaborations, Dangote Industries Limited is not only solidifying its dominance in various industries but also driving Nigeria’s economic transformation in an increasingly digital world.
