Dangote Coal, Local Communities Sign Development Agreement


Dangote Coal Mines Limited has signed a significant agreement with local communities in Benue State, aimed at supporting community development. 

This agreement, known as a Community Development Agreement (CDA), is being celebrated as an important achievement.

Representatives from both Dangote Coal and the local communities say this agreement will help the company provide social programs that align with government efforts to improve the area. 

Nuhu Elijah, representing Dangote Coal, called the agreement a major step forward in their goal to make a positive impact on people’s lives. 

He explained that the agreement would help guide the company's work in the Abache Community specifically.

Through this partnership, the company plans to implement projects focusing on education, road construction, health services, and water supply.

Ms Bimbo Adams, representing the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, referred to this agreement as a new beginning for cooperation and growth in the region. Mrs Adijetu Usman also represented the federal ministry at the event.

Chief Emmanuel Ikom, the Ward Head of Ugbokolo, praised Dangote Coal for its ongoing efforts in the three local communities within the Okpokwu Local Government Area and encouraged the company to continue its good work.

Mr Sunday Onoko Aluh, a representative from the Abache community, expressed gratitude for the agreement and promised that his community would cooperate with the company to promote fast development in the area. 

Traditional leaders present at the signing ceremony applauded Dangote Coal for its various assistance programs and described the agreement as a benefit for everyone involved.
