Osun State is set to lead the charge in leveraging creativity for sustainable development as it hosts the Osun State SDG Creatives Conference 2025.
Scheduled to take place from January 28 to 30 at the SDG Skill Acquisition Centre in Iragbiji, the event underscores the importance of innovation, creativity, and culture in driving economic growth and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With the theme "Innovate, Create, and Transform: Unlocking the Creative Economy for Sustainable Development," the conference aims to highlight the transformative power of the creative economy.
The event will bring together over 700 participants, including creative professionals, policymakers, industry leaders, and thought influencers, to explore how Osun can harness its cultural and artistic resources to advance the SDGs.
The focus will be on three key SDGs: Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
By showcasing the state’s potential, the conference seeks to position Osun as a leader in the creative economy and a model for sustainable development.

“This event is in line with Governor Adeleke’s agenda to stimulate economic growth by harnessing creativity and innovation,” Omishore said.
“Through partnerships with the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, Culture and Tourism, the Agency on Creativity, Entertainment and Arts, and other stakeholders, we aim to create a platform that empowers participants and drives progress,” he added.
The three-day conference will feature interactive sessions, exhibitions, and cultural displays.
Key themes include unlocking global opportunities in the creative sector, investment prospects in Osun’s digital and artistic industries, and using creativity to shape narratives for change.
Participants will also experience cultural and Adire exhibitions, celebrating the state’s rich heritage.
