Nigeria Clears ₦85bn Debt to ECOWAS


Nigeria has fully settled its outstanding debt of ₦85 billion owed to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), reaffirming its commitment to regional cooperation and development.

The President of the ECOWAS Commission, Omar Touray, announced the development during the opening of the 66th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, held in Abuja.

Touray commended Nigeria for fulfilling its financial obligations, highlighting the importance of such contributions in advancing ECOWAS's mission of economic integration, peace, and stability across West Africa.
