Ekiti State Governor Appoints Justice Ogunmoye as Acting Chief Judge


Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has appointed Hon. Justice Lekan Adekanye Ogunmoye as the Acting Chief Judge of the state. 

This appointment is in line with the authority vested in the governor by Section 271 (4) of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended).

According to a statement by the governor's Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Justice Ogunmoye’s appointment takes effect from November 5, 2024. 

He succeeds Hon. Justice John Oyewole Adeyeye, the former Chief Judge, who passed away on November 4, 2024.

Justice Ogunmoye, born on November 6, 1963, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987 and became a judge on April 1, 2010. 

Governor Oyebanji expressed his best wishes to Justice Ogunmoye for a successful tenure in his new role.
