The World Bank has released its Nigeria Development Update report, revealing that more than 129 million Nigerians are currently living impoverished.
The report, published on Thursday in Abuja, highlights the impact of rising headline inflation, which has pushed millions into hunger.
The global financial institution noted that this figure marks a significant increase in poverty levels, jumping from 40.1 per cent in 2018 to 56 per cent in 2024.
