In BALASTRO II, FONTANA, located in Resistencia, Chaco Province of Argentina, poverty reaches distressing levels.
Life here mirrors Thomas Hobbes' grim description: "Brutish, nasty, and short." This area in Latin America is often labelled the "poorest of the poor" in Argentina.
The community has long been neglected, left to grapple with grinding poverty, disease, and the daily uncertainty of where the next malnourished meal will come from.
For over a million children, hope, happiness, and a promising future seem out of reach.
Basic needs such as food, clean water, roads, and electricity are absent—only a field for football breaks the monotony of deprivation.
Survival here demands extraordinary resilience.
Into this landscape of hardship, Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Partners of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) have brought hope.
They have reached out to those in need, offering not only material aid but also the gift of love, attention, and faith.
For over 500 families trapped in poverty, the arrival of food, clothing, household, and educational supplies—valued at over 20 million Argentine Pesos—was a lifeline.
Cash gifts of 1.5 million pesos were also distributed to the "wretched of the earth," transforming their lives.
The entire community erupted in joy and celebration, with emotions running high as they witnessed the arrival of the life-saving goods.
This act of compassion, delivered by a team from Nigeria, represented a miracle for the residents.
Many could hardly believe that this generosity came not from their white counterparts, but from African Christians.
Fontana is a deeply traditional society where practices such as witchcraft, worship of the dead, and other forms of idolatry remain prevalent.
The community also struggles with the social challenges of drug abuse among its youth.
But on this day, the atmosphere was filled with joy and unity, as people gathered on the football field to receive the donations.
The celebration was marked by traditional music, dancing, and heartfelt expressions of gratitude.
Pastor Evelyn Joshua delivered a message of hope and faith to the people: "We have brought to you the gospel of love from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
“You must completely surrender your life to Jesus Christ for your joy to be full and have lasting happiness," she declared, as the villagers welcomed her with enthusiasm, reminiscent of biblical accounts of Paul and Barnabas being received as extraordinary messengers.
She continued, "We are one with you. The seed of love planted in us by Jesus Christ remains alive.
“Your challenges are our challenges, and your joy is our joy. To the mothers and my sisters, life is full of challenges.
“Accept Jesus and bring up your children in the way of God, so you can find joy.
“Please ensure you instil in them the fear of God and provide a sound education.
“This place has become our second home. Let the words of God continue to grow in you, and walk in the light of God so that we can continue to rejoice together in Christ Jesus."
Her words inspired the crowd, who celebrated with jubilant cheers.
Aduana Solidod Gornama, a 37-year-old homeless mother of five, was especially moved by the support.
"This is a miracle. May God continue to bless the woman of God.
“This will go a long way in our lives, saving us from untimely death and hopelessness," she said.
Viviome Piluen Colrol, a jobless housewife living with her children and husband in a cramped ghetto apartment, shared her gratitude: "Today is the happiest day of my life. This help came when all hope was gone. May God continue to be with the woman of God and SCOAN."
Jorge Aditouio Movoz, a community leader, echoed these sentiments: "Words are inadequate to express our joy in this community to Pastor Evelyn Joshua for these marvellous gifts.
“We are overwhelmed to see you from Nigeria, coming here to bless us in this way.
“We thank God for your love and kindness to us in our abject poverty and miserable existence.
“May God continue to bless you and your church. This is truly marvellous."
Indeed, the saying "the mills of God grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine" rings true here.
Pastor Evelyn Joshua has built on the legacy of Prophet T.B. Joshua, reaffirming her commitment to transforming lives.
"By the grace of God, we have put our hands on the plough, and we can't look back.
“We are committed to changing lives, changing nations, and changing the world for the salvation of souls and a better humanity, as the Lord directs us," she affirmed.
Even those unfamiliar with such acts of generosity recognized the impact.
A white pastor in the crowd, moved by the display of compassion, quietly remarked, "God is awesome!
“We used to pray for the black people, but now the black people are praying for us. Glory be to His Holy name."
This outreach exemplifies how the world can become a better place when love guides human interactions.
Through the efforts of SCOAN, hope has been reignited in a community that had nearly lost it. Indeed, greater things are on the horizon.
