The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has called on those in the position of authority, alongside the entire Nigerians, to return to God if the nation is to overcome its present challenges.
The RCCG gave the admonition through the Pastor-in-Charge of Region 2 of the church, Pastor Yemi Lebi, while fielding questions from journalists at the Regional Headquarters of the church at Oshodi-Oworonshoki expressway, Ghagada, Lagos, after the Region 2 (Overcomers Family) Ushering Department had embarked on the rally from Bariga Bus Stop to the regional headquarters for blessings.
According to Pastor Lebi, “Though, for us, we are going through all these, when we can go back to the one who created the world when our leaders and even the followers and the citizens of this country would come back to the one that we call Jesus Christ, then we would see that things would begin to change.
“That is the reason we are praying for Nigeria. Our aim is not only to just bring souls to the kingdom of God, but we pray for Nigeria and as soon as people come into the fold and submit their lives to Jesus Christ, I believe there will be changes in this country.
“The reason you see people misbehave and do all manner of things is because many people do not have the mind of Christ.
“But when you are submitted to the authority of Christ, you will find rest.
“The moment someone is saved by the Lord Jesus Christ, it is critical that every soul must reach out to other souls that are unsaved so that you can bring them to the kingdom of God.
“For us in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, we decided to have a well-planned programme so that we can reach out to the unsaved and bring as many souls as possible into the kingdom of God, and we have a plan to ensure that we have millions of people that we would bring into the kingdom of God.
“That is the reason the Ushers in Region 2 have decided to plan this programme and I want to believe that you must be aware that we have all these going on in every centre in Lagos, not only the ones you are seeing today.
“The truth is that the Bible has mentioned the fact that in the last days, there will be confusion, there will be all manner of things. We are not surprised that all that is happening in the country today.”
While the mega rally lasted, the Regional Head Usher, Pastor Anthony Oluwajomi who said that the end is coming soon, maintained that God does not hate anyone.
In his words: “The devil plans to kill and destroy you. Give your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
“Depart from iniquity and sin. Confess your sins to God. Jesus can deliver you.”
