Coup: ‘Sanctions On Niger, Mali, Guinea Removed’ — ECOWAS

A resolution has been reached to lift some sanctions on Niger Republic, Mali, and Guinea.

The decision was taken on Saturday, February 24, 2024, by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) at the extraordinary summit on the peace, political and security situation in the ECOWAS subregion in Abuja.

While the regional bloc insisted that the political and targeted sanctions on the Niger Republic remain, it lifted some financial and economic sanctions on Guinea and some targeted sanctions on Mali.
