The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, today, declared Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State as the winner of the 2023 governorship election in the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emerged winner of the poll to serve a second term of another four years in office under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Sanwo-Olu who met the two-third requirement, massively won in 19 out of 20 local government areas of the state in the election results declared by the INEC Collation officer for the polls, Professor Adenike Olajidi.
The governor specifically polled 762,134 votes to beat his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, LP, who scored 312,329 votes in the election.
Jandor of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came a very distant third as he scored 62,449 votes.
