Jailed Fake Army General Forfeits Properties To Victim

The property recovered from convicted and jailed fake Army General, Bolarinwa Abiodun, whose real name is Hassan Kareem Ayinde, has been handed over to the victim, Bamidele Safiriyu Olusegun.

The properties were handed over by the Lagos Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The property returned is located at 1A, Joke Ayo Street, Riverside Estate, Alagbado, Lagos, as well as a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, a black BMW car, a black Toyota Land cruiser car and a white Toyota Hilux.

To defraud Olusegun of a sum to the tune of N266,500,000 (Two Hundred and Sixty-Six Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira, Ayinde had posed as an Army General.

It would be recalled that whilst being convicted by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of an Ikeja Special Offences Court on July 8, 2022, Ayinde had been ordered to forfeit all the proceeds of the crime and then sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

During the handing-over ceremony on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, the EFCC Zonal Commander, Ahmed Ghali, described the development as a milestone in the fight against corruption.
