President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday administered the oath of office to Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The event took place at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa.
The 62-year-old Ariwoola takes over from the outgone CJN, justice Tanko Muhammad, and he is expected to serve in an acting capacity till further confirmation by the National Judicial Council, NJC.
It would be recalled that Justice Muhammad had resigned as the Chief Justice of Nigeria on Sunday night, citing ill-health as the reason for his decision.
