'N100m paid to kidnappers before I was released' — Prelate Kanu-Uche

A sum to the tune of N100m was paid to secure my freedom by the church.

This position was made public by the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Kanu-Uche.

It would be recalled that the Prelate was abducted by hoodlums in Abia State,

Speaking on Tuesday in Lagos, Prelate Kanu-Uche also revealed that he was beaten by those who abducted him.

The cleric particularly stated that the gang threatened to kill him if the N100 million was not paid.

Kanu-Uche was abducted on Sunday along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, in the Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

He was kidnapped alongside his chaplain, Very Reverend Abidemi Shittu, and the Bishop of Owerri, Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark.
