Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi joins ancestors at 83

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo, has joined his ancestors.

The monarch died in the late hours of Friday, according to palace officials.

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.

It would be recalled that the first-class traditional monarch ruled for 52 years before his demise, making him the longest-reigning Alaafin.
