The Electoral Act Amendment Bill was on Friday signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.
It was signed into law at about midday at a brief ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the Aso Villa in Abuja.
In attendance at the ceremony is Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The action is coming barely a week to the expiration of the window the President has to decide on the proposed legislation, as required by the Nigerian Constitution.
