AFCON: Victor Osimhen dropped over COVID-19 infection

For testing positive to COVID-19, Victor Osimhen has been dropped by the Super Eagles of Nigeria to participate in the 33rd African Cup of Nations.

This position was confirmed on Friday by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

The Super Eagles also invited four new players for AFCON over the health concerns and injuries of some players.

The NFF’s spokesperson, Ademola Olajire also added that only the goalkeeping department is unchanged.

Other players newly added to the AFCON squad are right back Tyrone Ebuehi, England–based Oluwasemilogo, Greece-based Henry Onyekuru, and Czech Republic-based forward Peter Olayinka.
