Ex-AGF Chukwunyere Nwabuoku Loses N1.9bn Shares, Abuja Duplex to FG

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth billions of naira linked to former Acting Accountant General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku, following his conviction for money laundering and abuse of office.

Delivering judgment on Wednesday, Justice James Omotosho upheld the application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), granting the confiscation of assets including N1.9 billion in shares, N288 million cash deposits, and a luxury five-bedroom duplex in Abuja.

The forfeited assets were traced to multiple companies — Temeeo Synergy Concept Limited, Turge Global Investment Limited, Laptev Bridge Limited, and Arrafura Transnational Afro Ltd.

The EFCC also confirmed that Nwabuoku refunded N220 million into the Commission’s Recovery Account domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The Abuja property, located at No. 20 City Gate Estate, Kukwaba, and stocks valued at N1,941,805,342 in several security companies were also forfeited.

Justice Omotosho ruled that the assets constituted proceeds of unlawful activity, citing Nwabuoku’s earlier conviction on March 23, 2026, for a nine-count charge of money laundering and abuse of office.
