Coalition Demands Investigation of Germany-Based TikToker Over Alleged Defamation in Mohbad Justice Campaign

Lagos, Nigeria — March 14, 2026

The Coalition of Justice Advocates (CJA), in partnership with Olori Ebi Platform Worldwide, has called on the Nigerian Police Force to investigate alleged cyberbullying and defamation targeting members of the Mohbad justice campaign.

At a press briefing in Lagos, the groups accused Germany-based TikToker Comfort Ilesanmi, popularly known as Comfy, of orchestrating online harassment, including defamation, intimidation, and unlawful processing of personal data.

Mr Kayode Adebiyi, speaking on behalf of the coalition, alleged that Comfy used multiple monetised social media accounts to bully campaigners by editing their images into coffins with “RIP” inscriptions, spreading false claims of assassination plots, and circulating photos of members’ children without consent.

“Justice must not only be done but seen to be done. Our members have been subjected to reputational harm, threats, and emotional distress,” Adebiyi said.

Legal representative Emmanuel Oroko confirmed that a petition had been submitted to the Inspector-General of Police, urging collaboration with Interpol, German authorities, and data protection regulators.

Oroko emphasised that the alleged offences contravene Nigeria’s Cybercrime Act 2015, Criminal and Penal Codes, Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, and the Child Rights Act.

Several members shared personal accounts of harassment. Mrs Funmilola Alade recounted how her photo was placed in a coffin with “RIP” written on it, leading to panic among relatives.

Mr Sumola Onile alleged his image was transformed into a wall gecko, while Mr Owonikoko Jamiu said his 80-year-old mother was targeted with curses online.

The advocacy groups insist that Comfy, who is reportedly seeking asylum in Germany, has weaponised social media against them.

They urged both Nigerian and German authorities to act swiftly to protect campaigners and ensure justice for Mohbad.
