LAGOS, NIGERIA — In a significant move to bridge the communication gap and drive social impact, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has launched a state-of-the-art urban radio station in Lagos on Friday, February 13, 2026.
The launch, which marks the third radio station established by the cleric, coincided with his annual thanksgiving program.
Valued at over N700 million, the facility features world-class equipment, including a studio designed for simultaneous visual transmission.
Unlike many religious-led media ventures, Primate Ayodele emphasised that the station is strictly non-religious.
Instead, the project is designed as a social enterprise to support the less privileged.
“It isn’t for my personal use or for religious reasons; it is basically to help the needy, support the downtrodden, and lend a voice to the voiceless.
“The creation is centred around people, not necessarily to make money, but to render assistance,” Ayodele stated during the ceremony.
The cleric announced that the station would be handed over to a professional management team, with the mandate to use its proceeds and platform to empower widows and the vulnerable.
The event drew a high-profile audience, including the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and the Oloto of Oto-Awori Kingdom, who donated two plots of land to house the facility.
In a major boost for local education, the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, represented at the event, hailed the initiative as a partnership in progress.
“The university plans to synergise with the station to provide internship opportunities for students in its Department of Communication,” he said.
Furthering his commitment to community development, Primate Ayodele awarded full scholarships to two local students during the launch.
Dignitaries present praised the investment, noting that the station would serve as a catalyst for economic expansion and a vital mouthpiece for the Oto-Awori community.
The three-day Thanksgiving celebration is set to conclude on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
